Že nisem več na svetu; oni so na svetu, a jaz odhajam k tebi. Sveti Oče, ohrani v svojem imenu te, ki si mi jih dal, da bodo êno kakor midva. Dokler sem bil med njimi, sem jih varoval in nobeden izmed njih se ni pogubil, razen sinu pogubljenja, da se spolni pismo. Zdaj pa grem k tebi; in o tem govorim na svetu, da bi imeli v sebi polnost mojega veselja. (Jn 17,11-13)
Ich bin nicht mehr in der Welt, aber sie sind in der Welt, und ich gehe zu dir. Heiliger Vater, bewahre sie in deinem Namen, den du mir gegeben hast, damit sie eins sind wie wir. Solange ich bei ihnen war, bewahrte ich sie in deinem Namen, den du mir gegeben hast. Und ich habe sie behütet und keiner von ihnen ging verloren, außer dem Sohn des Verderbens, damit sich die Schrift erfüllt. Aber jetzt gehe ich zu dir. Doch dies rede ich noch in der Welt, damit sie meine Freude in Fülle in sich haben. (Jn 17,11-13)
I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name- the name you gave me- so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. (Jn 17,11-13)
